The White Mountains of New Hampshire are the crown jewels of Northeast hiking. Dixville Notch, New Hampshire - Dixville Notch is an unincorporated small village in the Dixville township of Coos County, New Hampshire which is known for being one of the first places to declare the results in Presidential elections. It is located in the far north of the state, approximately 20 miles (30 km), by the best road route to a border-crossing between Vermont and Quebec, from Canada.

Cohos Trail - The Cohos Trail is a hiking trail running 162 miles through northern New Hampshire in the United States, connecting the northern and southern ends of Coos County. It begins at Notchland, near Crawford Notch State Park, and follows a series of trails to the hamlet of Fabyans, then over Cherry Mountain to the town of Jefferson, over Mount Waumbek, along the Kilkenny Ridge Trail to Stark, through Nash Stream Forest to Dixville Notch, and north to the Connecticut Lakes and finally the Canadian border at the southern edge of Quebec.

Mohawk River (New Hampshire) - The Mohawk River is a short stream in New Hampshire in the United States, approximately 15 mi (24 km) long. It flows WSW from near Dixville Notch to the Connecticut River near Colebrook.
